Coffee women

Before the coffee reaches a roastery in Vancouver or a café in Brussels, it passes through the hands of women who have spent their lives learning how to read a coffee plant.

They know which cherry is ready. They know which one needs one more day. That knowledge is not in any manual. It lives in the hands of the women of Huila.

ASMUJER · COOP No. 250530 · HUILA, COLOMBIA

We work alongside the ASMUJER cooperative in the Huila region. These women pick, process, and dry the coffee by hand, the same way it has always been done in these mountains. We don’t just buy their coffee. We build the relationship, support the families, and make sure the work they do is reflected in the price we pay and the standards we maintain.

COFFEE KIDS · HUILA, COLOMBIA

The children of these women grow up in coffee communities. They see the plant before they see a classroom. We want to make sure they get both.

Through Seeds for a Better World, our nonprofit registered in Luxembourg, we support the education of children in the communities where our coffee is grown. Because the next generation growing up on these farms deserves real options.
